Latest N-Gage game offers furious multiplayer action

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

The original cross-platform video game about video games, Reset Generation by Nokia Games Publishing, is now available on N-Gage. The objective is simple - rescue the princess. Players begin by choosing a hero from ten designs by celebrity artists, representing the pantheon of video game history and each with its own unique superpower. Players then either conquer the game in 18 single-player story missions or compete with up to four players online. The last princess standing wins!

“Reset Generation is a groundbreaking new game for the N-Gage platform,” said Dr Mark Ollila, Head of Games Publishing, Nokia. “This title showcases the commitment that Nokia has to publishing innovative games and we are proud to be pioneering new original content for consumers.”

“A homage to all things fun in video games, the highly anticipated Reset Generation is unlike anything seen before,” continued Scott Foe, Producer, Nokia. “No pixel was left behind and no sound was spared. If you grew up playing video games, you will be especially fond of this title.”

Players can also enjoy seamless multiplayer action between mobile and PC. On PC, the game is free to play and is available as an embeddable web widget and as downloadable content with N-Gage compatible devices. The mobile version sold through Nokia channels will cost around 10-12 EUR depending on local taxes and can be bought with a credit card or charged to an operator subscription where operator billing is available.

Reset Generation is developed by Finland-based RedLynx of Pathway to Glory fame. The soundtrack was composed and performed by Los Angeles-based chiptune band 8 Bit Weapon using old video game machines as instruments.

Monday, July 28th, 2008

I think this is no longer new to you! But I just wanna make an article about this game console.

Nintendo Co. Ltd. sold of its new Wii video game console in the United States more than twice the number of PlayStation 3 sold by Sony Corp. Nintendo Wii costs half as much as the latter. Many gamers lined up at retailers hours to ensure they were among the first to get!

The console was Nintendo’s smallest home unit yet, measuring 44 mm wide, 157 mm tall, and 215.4 mm deep. And it can be placed either horizontally or vertically. Wii console features wireless controller, the Wii Remote, which can be used as a handheld pointing device. The remote can detect motion and rotation in three dimensions. It allows users to control the game using physical gestures as well as traditional button presses. It also features WiiConnect24 which enables to receive messages and updates over the Internet. The console is backward compatible with all Nintendo GameCube software and GameCube peripherals.

What’s in its name? Don’t you know that it is first named as Revolution? However, revolution is not ideal because it is long, and in some countries, it maybe hard to pronounce. How Wii was created? The word Wii sounds like “we”’, which means that the console is for everyone. It can easily be remembered by people all around the world. Furthermore, “Wii” spells with two “i”s to connote a figure of players gathering together. What’s important is that Wii is short, easy to pronounce, and unique. There are ads slogan that has been posted in the US such as “Wii would like to play” and “Experience a new way to play”.

The console was awarded with the Grand Award Winner in Home Entertainment this month, December.

Second U.S. Xbox 360 Price Drop?

Monday, July 28th, 2008

One day after Microsoft has lowered the price of the Xbox 360 in Europe, it is actually cheaper modern console on the continent (watch out Wii), the issues of trade, if the company to follow suit on their own territory in America.

DBTechno Tuesday said that Microsoft “getting ready” fendez the price of the Xbox 360 in the United States here, documenting quoted “reports” (ie rumors most likely).

Whatever the authenticity of the said “reporting”, surely one of the things - Microsoft drop the price of Xbox 360 for the second time in North America as usual in the life of an aging video game console. The question is when?

Often quoted analyst Michael Pachter believes that to happen before the summer, if not earlier, as lower sales of the Xbox 360 compared to a rise of PlayStation 3, Blu-Ray, thanks to the recent victory over HD-DVD. Nintendo, for its part, remains, both in terms of popularity, so that now the time is welcome, because everyone has an interest in Microsoft at an attractive price.

Playstation Games of All Times

Monday, July 28th, 2008

At this moment of time it is very hard to choose the best PS2 game because there are too many games to choose from. I am one of the gamers of PS2 games. There are times that we, together with my husband, play until 2 o’clock in the morning.

Here are some of the games that I have loved. Maybe some of your favorite PS2 games are not on the list!

1. God of War
I really love to play this game! This game enables the gamer to think on how to go to the next level.

The main character is Kratos, who is an Ex- Spartan warrior. In this game, if you are Kratos then you’ve just killed the god of war, Ares.

In Greek mythology, Ares was the great Olympian god of war, battle lust, and had turned out to be an arrogant boy and cruel God. He loved battles and violence.

Kratos will be confronted with mythology’s darkest creatures like Gorgon Medusa, who is a terrible monster who could turn people to stone; Minotaur, who had the body of a man and the head and tail of a bull; Cyclops, who has a characteristics weapon- the thunderbolt and is the son of Poseidon.
However, nothing can keep Kratos from his terrible vengeance.

2. Prince of Persia
When I first played this game, I like its speed kill function, which allows me to kill quickly an enemy from behind. The game truly provides a variety of action combat, and story-driven puzzles. And these make a rich gaming experience.

The Prince of Persia, together with Kaileena (who is the Empress of Time), is on his way home to Babylon. However his kingdom is in burning arrows, missiles and in smoke. Vizier is expecting for the coming of the two. He wishes to kill Kaileena and make her immortal. The rest of the story is about how the Prince will defeat the Vizier.

3. Devil May Cry
Devil May Cry stars the action-adventure hero Dante, who is a demon hunter and at the same time a half demon shrouded with mystery. He hopes to find and kill the demons that killed his mother. As he seeks revenge Dante will face many demons. And if Dante will be successful, then the “devil may cry!”

The game requires you to use Dante’s firearms, such as ebony and ivory, shotgun, needlegun, grenade gun, and nightmare beta; and Devil Arms, which include force edge, alastor, ifrit, and sparda bearing the name of Dante’s father. It also features puzzle-solving, thorough examining to locate items and orbs that will help Dante in his quest.

Devil May Cry puts emphasis on action. I think there have been three games released.

4. Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid has been noted to be the greatest action game on the PlayStation.
This game features a rolling demo mode. In here, the player may watch every scene and understand Codec conversation with no actual playing. The scenes featured special effects in a 3D engine, enhanced music and animation.

This game can be categorized under action games. It systematically spies to get military secrets. Characters were Solid Snake, Meryl, Madnar, Schneider, Dr. Petrovich Madnar, who was the developer of Metal Gear, and many more.

5. Final Fantasy X
What makes this game excellent is that it features enhanced graphics and is interactive. Players are given the chance to develop their characters by defeating enemies and acquiring items.

The game is about Tidus who was thrown into the future a thousand years ago after his city had been destroyed. Other characters were Yuna, a summoner who can summon powerful aeon; Kimahri, who protects Yuna at all times, Lulu; Auron; and Wakka, who is Yuna’s friend; to name a few.

The player will be thrown into the world of Spira, which is under the threat of the evil “Sin”. Violence and devastation are for Spira’s inhabitants. The goal is to rebuild the world that it is free of Sin.

Sometimes I do play Virtua Fighter, VICE CITY, Grand Theft Auto, Resident Evil, Dynasty Warrior, NBA Live, X-Men, Gran Turismo, and Onimusha.
